Golf is the game of a lifetime, a sport that can be enjoyed by people of almost any age. And yet it can be a confusing game for kids because there are rules and procedures—not to mention an unwritten code of conduct—that are essential to playing the game of golf.

Interestingly, there are virtually no golf books that focus on teaching kids the things they need to know in order to look and act correctly on a golf course. Sure there are plenty of books on how to swing, how to putt, how to think, etc., but none that focus on kids learning how to play the game.

So I created Birdie Press, a publishing company whose main goal would be to introduce children to the game of a lifetime by educating them on what golf is all about: respect for the game, respect for the golf course and respect for other golfers.

It is my hope that we will inspire more kids to take up the game of golf, a game that will ultimately teach them life lessons, such as honesty, integrity, camaraderie, discipline, etc.
